Highlights of this Trip

Explore a Breathtaking Display of Biodiversity: Costa Rica is home to over 850 bird species and contains some of the richest biodiversity on the planet! We’ll search for and appreciate the wide diversity of unique birds including hummingbirds, parrots, antbirds, herons, hawks, and so many more. Past trip lists have tallied well over 200 bird species. Expert bird guide, Phil, who has guided several previous Costa Rica birding trips, is eager to share some of these gems with you. We’ll venture beyond the usual tourist spots and uncover some of our favorite off-the-beaten-path birding hotspots.

Driving around Costa Rica's roads is an eye-opening experience, and we'll enjoy some of our favorite landscapes as we connect our destinations. The carefully selected routes are scenic masterpieces that will offer us secret pitstops where to discover art, explore nature, and taste incredible local food. We’ll ride in a spacious, deluxe, air-conditioned van which will always be stocked with fresh coconut water, fruit, and snacks for your comfort.

Costa Rica produces some of the best coffee in the world and you’ll see why as we explore the majestic highlands of the Valle Central— the home of the coffee region. You’ll see the massive impact that this simple bean had and still has on the history, culture and economy of Costa Rica. In this trip we will dive straight into the wonderful world of coffee by visiting Troubardour’s coffee farm where we’ll learn about growing and processing high-quality coffee, and get to better understand some of the bird-friendly practices we use.

Up-Close Encounters with Wildlife: Get ready for breathtaking bird photography opportunities! Our expert guides will position you for incredible views of howler monkeys swinging through the trees, macaws in vibrant flight, and even the occasional glimpse of a camouflaged sloth.

Relaxation & Camaraderie: Unwind after a day of birding adventures in comfortable, unique accommodations. Savor delicious, authentic Costa Rican cuisine and enjoy the company of fellow bird enthusiasts, sharing experiences and forging new friendships.

Testimonial

Ignacio and The Dreamcatchers changed my life. I was in a rut and needed something to wake me up out of my funk. Ignacio read my mind and gave me an experience that not only changed my perspective but made me realize how wonderfully spontaneous life can still be. The trip made me more open to new experiences, more optimistic about people and simply more happy the weeks and months that followed. Do yourself a favor and call The Dreamcatchers.
